Whitewashed Wood Bar

Whitewashed Wood Bar

This lovely bar is the best way to serve drinks at any affair. The top of this large bar is made out of 100- year old, chippy beadboard. The frame is constructed of joists removed from a an early 20th century rowhouse in Columbia Heights.  The front and sides are made from salvaged wood and then whitewashed to give it the perfect, detailed finish.  You won’t find a beauty like this one anywhere else.

Dimensions: 82 x 18 x 43

Price: $225.00

Wedding Chicks Feature on Emily and Jeremy’s Wedding

Wedding Chicks Feature on Emily and Jeremy’s Wedding

We were thrilled when Wedding Chicks  featured one of our favorite weddings from last year–Emily and Jeremy Kreminski’s wedding coordinated by Emily of Bliss Weddings and Events.  It was held at one of our favorite venues, The Barns at Hamilton Station and the gorgeous photos were taken by Lisa Marie of Sweet Tea Photography.  This wedding is chocked full of lovely rustic details, planned by Emily of Bliss Weddings and Events.

I love this adorable embroidered bridal handkerchief.  So precious and what a great keepsake.

Emily and Jeremy used our reclaimed barnwood farm tables for their farm-to-table dinner catered by Market Table Bistro.  I love the way our tables looks in the Barns cellar.

Styling with Vintage Suitcases

Styling with Vintage Suitcases

I love vintage suitcases because of their details, charm, and because they are made of  materials you don’t see in luggage these days.  It doesn’t matter whether they are leather or old hardcase Samsonites, I adore them just the same.  You may wonder what on earth I use all of these suitcases for, but I definitely find ways.  At home and at events,  I utilize them as coffee table and end table alternatives by stacking them and then throwing a tray or vintage books on top.

I love the blue suitcase in the photo above.  It brings an unexpected pop of color to the stack–I adore pops of color.

OMG.  I want this soooo badly!

And for ideas a bit off the beaten path, I love this suitcase with flowers in it.
