We are SO excited to give you a sneak peak of our hand-fired Bloomington china coming Fall 2017 to our inventory. We collaborated with local artisan White Hearth Supply to design this one-of-a-kind line that you won’t find anywhere else. (It even has our name on the back, eeee!!!) These gold and white beauties are perfectly imperfect and are adorned in real gold around the edges. We think they are simply gorgeous and are so excited for this new collaboration with fellow #girlboss and maker White Hearth Supply!
Since having Baby June, I’ve been focusing on what Something Vintage means, what we believe here, and how we are different from other rentals compnaies. We believe that having handmade and authentic vintage pieces is a big deal. It takes A LOT of extra work to overhaul a piece that was once forgotten and give it new, beautiful life but that’s why we do what we do—we take the forgotten and make it beautiful again and continue on the story of each piece. This is what we do, this is what makes us tick. After a lot of reflection, I came up with our Creed (below). I love it and hope that you do too!
The SVR CREED: Handmade and vintage pieces are our obsession, our passion, and why we get up in the morning. ☀️ We believe that by choosing hand-salvaged timber and heirloom furniture frames for our collections, something beautiful happens. 🌈 Our pieces are inherently special because no two are exactly alike and each has a story that has stood the test of time. ⏳ We, at Something Vintage, transform centuries-old wood and salvaged architectural elements into kick-a$$ custom bars and tables. 💪 We tirelessly hunt down forgotten sofas and chairs, painstakingly refinish their frames, and reupholster them in rich fabrics to continue on their stories. 🛠 We believe handmade and authentically vintage are worth the sweat, time, and tears it takes to bring these beauties back to life. 😇 It’s what gets our blood going, and it’s why we do what we do. Welcome to our version of vintage, where craft, patina, style, and awesomeness reign supreme. Boom! 💥 Who’s with us?
Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg was the perfect setting for this greenhouse editorial shoot with Jordan and Alaina Photography. We wanted a soft, romantic, dreamy vibe from this shoot (the drizzly, overcast weather added perfectly to this!) You can see our Natural Farm tables with our Sonoma Crossback Chairs fit this romantic vibe perfectly and the rich texture of the reclaimed wood Natural Farm Tables wood complimented these gauzy linens from Torn and Tied!
We incorporated timeless, antique, silver pieces throughout the shoot and opted for soft, dusty tones and colors. We love this shift from gold and think we’ll be seeing a lot more silver and dusty hues in the next year! What do you think?!
Check out the amazing patina of our antique silver trays. If you want a perfect backdrop for detail shots at your event, our silver trays are where it’s at!
We absolutely love the way this shoot turned out. Thank you to Jordan and Alaina Photography for asking us to participate!
Ahh that text of our Natural farm tables! This was one of the first shoots to use them so we are excited to get these beautiful photos back.
Those florals by Amy Lauren are perfect for this shoot, don’t you think?

I am overjoyed to welcome June Eloise Baldwin as the newest member of our SVR team! If you were wondering why we’ve been a bit quiet on the blog as of late, now you have this cute answer! She has been keeping us on our toes and has added some extra cuteness to the SVR office. I am so grateful to our SVR team to rocking it and being tolerant of a newborn in our warehouse digs and for Zach for helping so much with big brother Hank!
Welcome, Baby June! Our hearts are overflowing!
Feast your eyes on these gorgeous photos from Liz Fogarty’s photography workshop at Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA. The overall pallet, photography, lush florals made these wedding inspiration pics showstoppers, as featured on Wedding Sparrow (YAY!) I don’t think pics get more gorgeous than these. Thank you for asking us to help with your workshop, Liz!
THAT bouquet and dress!

Talk about a baby shower from French heaven! NYC Planner Tracy Taylor Ward and her mother Lauri Ward designed this incredible French baby shower at Upper Crust in NYC that was just featured in Martha Stewart Living (!!!!). We normally don’t offer vintage furniture rentals NYC since we are based in Washington DC but she saw our pieces at the Claire Pettibone runway show in NYC and was set on having them for her big fete, so we made it happen! Her design using our neutral colored French collection was totally spot on. I loved EVERYTHING about this etheral shower!!
We were excited for many of our upholstered pieces with natural wood frames to make their debut at Tracy’s shower. We go to great lengths to hand-sand and refinish these tufted beauties to give them a fresh lease on life—not to mention reupholstering them in fresh, plush fabrics. Check out our new Madeline chairs, Harper tufted sofa, Peggy Sue end table and our Natural Farm table with turned legs below. These are pieces that were a labor of love to bring back to life, but we think it was totally worth it, don’t you??
So excited for our Natural Farm Table to shine here! You really can’t beat its texture in photos or in person! No glossy lacquer here. Each one of these tables is handmade from reclaimed wood. As you probably know, we are obsessed!
Tracy also used our vintage china and vintage tea cups for her guests. We love this look of this on our white washed round tables and on our natural farm tables!
To match the Natural farm tables, we built these custom natural bars with antiqued mirrors on them. We have similar bars we constructed in gray, but wanted something that fit with the cohesive, amazing look of this shower.
A big congrats on Tracy and little Miss Carrigan! I love this pic of the parents to be–so sweet.
Hot mama! I’m 34 weeks preggo right now and I can tell you that I definitely do not look anything like Tracy did here! How stunning is she??!

Welcome Spring! We played host to Washington DC creatives at the Spring Social at Fathom Gallery to mix, mingle and toast to warm weather with a fresh spring soiree! Heirloom Catering & Event Styling in collaboration with Lauryn Prattes Events transformed the gallery into a stunning floral scene with lush arrangements from Sweet Root Village and thoughtfully placed lounges and bars from yours truely Something Vintage Rentals!
No creative detail was skipped at this spring fête! Guests indulged in spiked juices from JRINK Juicery and got their sweet cravings fixed with ice cream sandwiches from Nyce Cream and miniature cherry pies from Buttercream Bakeshop. Custom calligraphed signage by Laura Hooper Calligraphy was the cherry on top at this stylishly designed soiree!
