It has been way too long since our last post! The onset of wedding season has left us feeling a little crazed, but we’re finally taking a moment to destress and are reminiscing about this STUNNING wedding that took place last September. Sophie and J.D. tied the knot in Baltimore, MD and celebrated alongside 250 of their closest family and friends at Sophie’s family home. The reception embraced their home state of Maryland (you’ll spot crab place cards and an Old Bay escort board), natural wood elements like our District Farm Tables, and soft pink and blue hues. Plus, their big day was topped off with some of the most gorgeous flowers you’ll ever see! This couple’s wedding really is one for the books! We hope you love these photos as much as we do, but one thing’s for sure: this wedding is the definition of #goals!
The latest cold spell in DC might have just delayed peak cherry blossom dates, but we’re still dreaming of spring over here at the SVR Warehouse! In honor of spring’s impending arrival, we decided to revisit these GORGEOUS cherry blossom wedding editorial photos! In the year since this shoot took place, it has been featured on Style Me Pretty, MunaLuchi Bride, AND Bajan Wed– and it’s easy to see why! Planned by Type A Society and photographed by the incredibly talented Angela Newton Roy, this editorial features stunning invitations by Smock Paper (and has fun details like DC stamps!) and whimsical flowers by Wild Green Yonder. Although it’s still going to be a couple of weeks until we see the cherry blossoms blooming in DC, these photos helped lift our cold weather blues! We hope you enjoy!
Raspberry Plain Manor is the backdrop for this gorgeous shoot which features overflowing flowers, stunning hues in shades of pink and red, and natural wood elements! Planned by IDA ROSE Events & Design and complete with gorgeous stationary by Brittany Branson, a drool-worthy cake by Buttercream Bakeshop, and sparkly jewels from Lindsay Marie Design’s collection, we knew the result was going to be something spectacular! In the photos below, you’ll see just how beautifully our Dupont Whitewashed Farm Tables and Sonoma Crossback Chairs pair together, plus our go-to Julia Settee! We hope the vivid shades from this shoot brighten up your Monday blues! One thing is for sure- this shoot will serve up some major wedding inspiration!
How excited am I?!?!? Our surprise wedding is up on Washington Bride & Groom today! About a month ago, we were featured in the Spring Issue of the magazine and today we’re up on the blog! Almost three years ago (and two babies later but who’s counting?!), Zach and I had our warehouse “launch party” at the Something Vintage warehouse and surprised our guests with a wedding!
I felt A LOT of self-imposed pressure to make our wedding incredible because we are in the wedding industry, I wanted it to be creative, beautiful, and an intimate party but I didn’t want to spend the two years planning it. So thinking out of the box, we decided to have it here at our warehouse because Something Vintage brought us together, he proposed to me here, we have a shared love of vintage pieces, everything DC, and creating pieces with reclaimed wood (from DC!). Let me just say, that it took a lot to get this place ready because we had just moved in two months earlier and it was a mess. We also decided to call it our warehouse “launch” party because it has plausible deniability and would get our friends and family who lived across the country to come! And they did and neither of our sets of parents or friends knew! Despite the torrential downpour that scuttled my vision for an all upholstered seating ceremony, everything else that day was perfect!
At Something Vintage Rentals, our obsession and passion has always been handmade and vintage pieces! We think this is why our style resonates so deeply with couples aiming for a boho wedding. Bohemian weddings are all about embracing rustic elements, vintage accents, and natural materials so our mission to restore pieces by using reclaimed wood and heirloom furniture frames is right up their alley! We think it’s pretty much a match made in heaven!
A few months ago, the Huffington Post and Wedding Wire asked us to predict the wedding trends most likely to take center stage in 2018 and we immediately thought boho! In the photos below you’ll notice an abundance of greenery, lush flowers, natural wood elements, and inspiring colors. Plus, you’ll see some of our most treasured pieces featured! From classics like our District Reclaimed Wood Farm Tables and Palmer Garden Chairs to new favorites like our Lincoln Copper Chairs, there’s something for everyone. We hope you’ll be inspired by this glimpse into our boho collection! One thing’s for sure- this boho trend isn’t going away anytime soon!
Our Summer Rattan Wicker Chairs are always a go-to for boho weddings! Topped with simple greenery and accompanied by our Finn Sheepskin Rug, Lincoln Copper Chairs, and Mallory Brass Coffee Table, they’ve never looked better!!
Collaborating with Emily Ann on this styled shoot was a no-brainer! Full of some of our favorite pieces (including our brand new Monroe Navy Wingback Settee) and set at one of our all time favorite venues (The Goodstone Inn), this shoot is positively dreamy! Natural wood, lots of greenery, and gauzy romantic linens take center stage in these gorgeous photos. Plus, a few understated but STUNNING pieces like our Lila Amethyst Wingback Chair make an appearance! We hope these gorgeous photos transport you to the idyllic backyard of the Goodstone Inn- Happy Tuesday!
